The "golden judge" Khakhaleva was removed from the flight to Baku while trying to escape to Dubai

The former "golden" judge from Elena Khakhaleva of the Krasnodar Territory was detained at Baku airport. This is reported by Izvestia, citing a source.

According to the source, Khakhaleva tried to fly to Dubai, but was removed from the flight.

It is noted that the Russia has already requested a package of documents on her charges, and after receiving an appropriate response, Baku will make a decision regarding the defendant, including extradition.

The criminal case against the "golden judge" was opened on May 17, 2022. Khakhaleva is charged with fraud and forgery. The RF IC suspected her of embezzling 1 million rubles. On June 10, Khakhaleva was arrested in absentia and put on the international wanted list, she was given a preventive measure in the form of two months of arrest from the moment of actual detention.

EADaily previously reported that Elena Khakhaleva's letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin was widely discussed in Kuban, where she exposes herself and her family as a victim of bullying. In it, in particular, Khakhaleva wrote that "she and her family have been subjected to an information attack from a large business structure for three years." The letter states that "there was a loud story about her daughter's wedding with an unthinkable budget, then fake stories about her connection with the criminal world, about her having dual citizenship, then there was a loud PR campaign about the forgery of her diploma of higher legal education."

The scandal around Khakhaleva began in 2017. According to media reports, the guests at her daughter's wedding were allegedly entertained by singers Vera Brezhneva, Iosif Kobzon, Nikolai Baskov and Valery Meladze. Lawyer Sergei Zhorin wrote on social networks that the cost of the celebration amounted to about $ 2 million. The Council of Judges of the region and the IC of Russia have not found confirmation that her diploma is fake. The agencies also checked the information on the financing of the wedding, not finding a single fact discrediting the reputation of the judge.

Khakhaleva was appointed judge of the Krasnodar Regional Court in 2004. According to official data on the website of the regional court, the judge's income for 2016 amounted to 2.64 million rubles. She owned a residential building with an area of 66 sq. m and two land plots with an area of 300 and 851 sq. m.
