In the context of the unprecedented transformation of the world taking place today, there is no way back for humanity. This was stated by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk at the Boao Asian Forum, TASS reports.

The Deputy Head of the Russian government spoke at the session "Creating favorable conditions for peaceful development and ensuring common economic security."

"We really live in a time of transformation, which is driven by various factors. They may or may not be related to each other, but together they create sufficient synergy to transform our world in a way and at a speed that has not been observed before. Whether we are talking about globalization or fragmentation of global markets, forced industrial revolution or digital transformation and artificial intelligence, climate change with the subsequent reduction of water reserves, water resources, food security, energy transition — you need to understand that there is no way back for humanity," said Overchuk.

He noted that all the changes taking place make us think about maintaining the pace of development achieved in the past period and ensuring development in an increasingly fragmented world.

According to him, in order to answer these vital questions, it is necessary to look at how to create a new basis for an effective international partnership that will stop further fragmentation and free up opportunities to increase efficiency.

"This will include the creation of seamless transport logistics systems and independent payment infrastructure, as well as a wide network of interconnected international supply chains that will cover the entire Eurasian continent," Overchuk concluded.
