The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has sent a note on Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev’s visit to Crimea on April 27, the ministry’s spokesman Yevhen Perebyinis said today.
“The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has sent a protest note urging to cease the malpractice of officials visiting the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, and to explain without delay reasons why Russian top-ranking officials show defiant disrespect to the Ukrainian law and stance of the international community,” he said.
Members of the Russian State Duma have already commented on this statement. In particular, deputy leader of the United Russia faction Frants Klintsevich said: “It would be funny if it weren't so sad. Kiev has completely lost its sense of normalcy.”
