The parliamentary elections in Belarus are valid, the Belarusian Central Election Commission has announced.
To make them valid, the voter turnout needed to be no less than 50%. By the data at 16:00 Moscow time, the turnout was 60.87%. More than a half of eligible voters took part in the voting in all the six regions of Belarus. Only in Minsk the turnout was 49.71%.
The elections in Belarus are held today to elect members if the lower house of the parliament. The elections are held in single-mandate constituencies.
