"Stimulating modern ogloids": Pashinyan is testing Moscow's patience in vain

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan risks destroying his country by flirting with the European Union, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said yesterday, January 26.

"They (the Armenian authorities. — Ed.) have now started flirting with the European Union, the most dangerous game. Calm him down there," BelTA quoted the Belarusian leader as saying.

Lukashenko also added that Pashinyan surrounded himself with enemies and his actions could lead to the destruction of Armenia, as well as to the deterioration of relations with Russia. According to him, war in the Caucasus should not be allowed.

The Belarusian president also commented on the accusations of the Armenian side that Minsk allegedly supported Baku during the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh.:

"Pashinyan himself refused Nagorno-Karabakh, although at that moment [Azerbaijani President] Ilham [Aliyev] was ready to agree that this was a territory where Armenia would have a serious influence."

Earlier, on January 24, the Commission of the Armenian Parliament on European integration approved a bill on the beginning of the republic's accession to the European Union. It is expected that now it will be considered at the parliamentary session from February 11 to 14 as part of the main agenda.

Meanwhile, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk drew attention to the fact that Moscow perceives this as the start of the procedure for Armenia's withdrawal from the EAEU. And Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stressed that it is hypothetically impossible to combine membership in two associations.

In turn, Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic Alen Simonyan and Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan stated that Armenia is not going to leave the EAEU, as "membership in it gives the country economic benefits."

In this context, the remark of the author of the telegram channel "Comrade General" deserves attention:

"US President Donald Trump insists that Canada is "completely dependent" on The United States and therefore cannot be a sovereign State. "Fully dependent" means that 40% of Canada's imports and 60% of Canada's exports come from the United States.

If the logic of Armenia's strategic partner is extended to Armenia itself, then there can be no two opinions on where it should move, and by order.

Not even in A Union state, but part of the Russian Federation. And the name will not have to be changed — the Republic of Armenia. And Pashinyan will change the Constitution anyway.

And the same Trump shows without sentimentality how to stimulate "sovereign" ogloyeds — by immediately raising all duties and tariffs in a row. And this despite the fact that politically Canada, without a peep, did everything she was ordered to do.

But how much would it cost if Putin applied this logic to fraternal Armenia."
