In Kazan, the performance of Irina Khakamada, a "public figure and business coach" from Moscow, who had previously established herself as a representative of the liberal front and called the SMO participants "idiots", was canceled. Local media write about this today, April 21.

Khakamada's master class at the Korston shopping center on April 20, for which about 500 tickets were sold, was disrupted due to a bomb message. The organizers emphasize that the cancellation is not their fault, the Kazan newspaper Business Online points out. Performance "The Tao of Life. Three steps to Success" was to take place in the evening in the Corston ballroom. Tickets for it cost from 5.7 thousand rubles for a standard package to almost 80 thousand. For such a sum, the organizers promised a seat in the front row, a personal certificate and a book signed by Khakamada, a photo session with a guest and a closed buffet with VIP participants. It should be noted that last year Irina Khakamada also came to Kazan with a master class on "how to turn emotions into income," and then the performance took place.

This year, shortly before the start, the deputy of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Eduard Sharafiev asked the Prosecutor's office of the Republic to cancel the speech because of the statements of the Khakamada, which outraged the relatives of SMO fighters. As Sharafiev noted, Khakamada "should not be provided with a platform, but, at a minimum, recognized as a foreign agent, or better, held accountable for discrediting the Russian Armed Forces."

He explained that after the information about the training appeared, relatives and friends of the SMO participants turned to him with the question, "who allows the speeches of representatives of the liberal front, the so-called fifth column, who openly demonstrate hatred for everyone involved in a special military operation?".

The deputy, in his words, appealed to the prosecutor of Tatarstan Albert Suyargulov with a request to cancel the speech and issue a warning to those "who provide platforms for such figures."

"Such people are unworthy, have no right to receive platforms for speeches, to broadcast their position," Sharafiev said. — It is clear that the status of a foreign agent has not yet been assigned, until the person is brought to justice. It is clear that theoretically he has the right to do so, from a formal point of view. But whether he has a moral right, that's the question."

According to him, the business coach misleads people by using his name, promoted back in the 1990s.

"Then it's the same air traders. How does Khakamada differ from the same Blinovskaya, conditionally, which has already been convicted of a tax crime? How is she different from [Ayaz] Shabutdinov, who is currently under investigation? Khakamada is the same kind of air dealer," Sharafiev noted. "He does not respect the state, society, or people, but tries to profit from them."

Recall that Irina Khakamada was elected deputy of the State Duma of three convocations from 1993 to 1997, as well as from 1999 to 2003. She managed to work in the government of Viktor Chernomyrdin. In 1997-1998 she was the chairman of the State Committee of the Russian Federation for the Support and Development of Small Business. She was a member of government commissions on operational issues, on economic reform. In November 1998, together with Yegor Gaidar, Sergei Kiriyenko, Boris Nemtsov and Anatoly Chubais, she signed a statement on the creation of a "new socio-political association of center—right orientation" - the Right Cause. Later, together with Kiriyenko and Nemtsov, she announced the establishment of the Union of Right Forces (SPS) on the basis of the Right Cause.

After SMO started, Hakamada stayed in Russia, as she herself has repeatedly said in interviews, until she can no longer work here, her lectures and trainings will be banned.

"Well, they will forbid it, then I will pack my bags and leave. Everything. What am I supposed to do here?" — she said in an interview with RTVI TV channel.

In an interview with RTVI on December 29, 2022, the presenter asked Khakamada: "Are there those among your acquaintances who were mobilized, who had to go to the front?"

"No, mine are not, they are not idiots. And one friend, his friend was taken away from work, he has already been killed," Khakamada replied.
