One journalist was killed as a result of a bombardment of the Donetsk Airport on Sunday.
The man was in the car at the moment. His colleague was only injured as he was just in time to jump out of the vehicle.
According to the Ukrainian Spokesman of the Joint Coordination Center for Ceasefire Monitoring, Colonel Andrey Leshchinsky, the car was hit by an anti-tank guided missile. The names of the journalists are yet unknown.
Spokesman of the Defense Ministry of the Donetsk People’s Republic Eduard Basurin said that his Ministry had no detailed information about the incident but was collecting data and was going to appear with a statement on Monday.
Earlier Human Rights, Democracy and Rule of Law Commission of Russia’s Foreign Ministry Konstantin Dolgov called Ukraine an absolute leader in terms of illegal actions against journalists. “The Ukrainian authorities are not investigating the crimes committed during the punitive operations in the southeast of Ukraine, where over 6,000 people, including journalists, have been killed so far,” Dolgov said.
Four Russian journalists have been killed as a result of the war in Donbass since last year: photographer of RIA Novosti Andrey Stenin in Aug 2014, camera man of Channel One Anatoly Klyan in June 2014, correspondent and audio operator of VGTRK Igor Kornelyuk and Anton Voloshin.
