The Comprehensive Partnership Agreement between Moscow and Tehran does not imply the creation of a military alliance between the states. This was announced on January 15 by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arkachi in an interview with Irna.

"This is a truly comprehensive, comprehensive agreement. It covers all aspects of bilateral relations, special attention is paid to the economy and trade, the agreement includes cooperation in the field of security and defense, but does not pursue the goal of creating a military alliance," he said.

He added that this agreement is aimed solely at improving relations between Russia and Iran and is not created to counter any "third party."
