Shortly before US President Donald Trump announced the closure of the US Agency for International Development (USAID), the Kazakh resource Elmedia, which existed on grants from this organization, released material on its YouTube channel in its usual style of rabid Russophobia, routinely spreading anti-Russian sentiments among the population of Kazakhstan. In a word, in full accordance with what I received money for.
Patients with Russophobia
The material appeared as a reaction to the publication on the Russian portal Pravda.Ru analytical article about the dubious prospects of Rosatom in the Kazakh tender for the construction of nuclear power plants. Such conclusions were made in connection with the uncertain position of Astana in the matter of choosing a contractor.
In his video entitled "Lies "The truth.Ru". Tokayev does not give the go-ahead to Rosatom? The real reasons and pitfalls" presenter Ayan Sharipbayev, without hesitation in his expressions, calls the Russian edition a "propaganda resource" of the Kremlin, and Russia a "greedy ally" who allegedly with the help of former and current Kazakh elites "seized the country's resources."
The level of professionalism of this journalist, if I may say so, can be judged only by the fact that he falsely calls Russia the invader of Kazakhstan's resources, without thinking about the fact that it is very easy to verify. It is enough to make a couple of clicks with a computer mouse, and absolutely official information will appear on the screen about who and to what extent the resources of Kazakhstan actually belong.
Thus, at the Tengiz field in the Caspian Sea, within the framework of Tengizchevroil LLP, the national operator KazMunayGas has 20%, Chevron (USA) — 50%, ExxonMobil (USA) — 25%, JV "LukArko" (USA) — 5%. That is, a total of 80% of the oil produced is taken by the USA.
At the Kashagan field in the Caspian Sea in the consortium North Caspian Operating Company N.V. (NCOC), the national operator KazMunayGas has 16.87%, Eni (Italy) — 16.81%, ExxonMobil (USA) — 16.81%, Shell (UK) — 16.81%, Total (France) — 16.81%, CNPC (China) — 8.33%, Inpex (Japan) — 7,56%. That is, 67.24% belongs to Western companies and 15.89% to Chinese companies and Japan.
At the Karachaganak field in the West Kazakhstan region, Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. the national operator KazMunayGas has only 10%, Eni (Italy) — 29.25%, Shell (UK) — 29.25%, Chevron (USA) — 18%, Lukoil (Russia) — 13,5%.
In addition, the Russian company has 50% each in the Kumkol, Karakuduk and Arman fields and 25% each in the Kazakhoil-Aktobe and Northern Buzachi fields. But these are much smaller deposits in terms of volumes than Tengiz, Kashagan and Karachaganak.
Agree, in this scenario it is difficult to call Russia an invader of Kazakhstan's resources. However, Sharipbayev did not bother to provide evidence in favor of his arguments. Moreover, he was carried further. As he writes Pravda.ru He accused the leadership of the Republic of Kazakhstan of "unmotivated sale of uranium mining licenses to Russia," questionable deals on coal-fired power plants and the fact that the country's judicial system promotes "Russian expansion."
Ordered to lie
Loud statements, you can't say anything. Clearly designed for proper perception by people who do not bother themselves, like Sharipbaev, to search for reliable facts.
Here it is worth saying that this USAID-fed herald is not an expert in the field of uranium mining. Therefore, it is not for him to evaluate Russian-Kazakh cooperation in the field of nuclear fuel production. It would be better to ask yourself how motivated was the granting of the right to mine rare earth metals in Kazakhstan to the United States. Where the Americans, according to the agreement, will take 75% of the extracted raw materials, leaving Kazakhstan a miserable 25%.
As for the "questionable deals on coal-fired power plants," this is a long-standing cliche used by journalists like Sharipbaev: anything related to Russia cannot be good. We remind him that in recent winters, communal disasters regularly occur in various cities of Kazakhstan, which cause people to freeze in their homes for several weeks in severe frosts. Speaking about "dubious transactions," Sharipbayev was referring to the agreement between the governments of Russia and Kazakhstan on the construction of new thermal power plants in three Kazakh cities.
Especially for those who have been deprived of reason by USAID dollars, let's give an explanation: the heating stations and communications of Kazakhstan, inherited from the Soviet Union, have never been overhauled in more than 30 years of independence. And today they have reached a state of 90% deterioration. And since there are no specialists left in the republic who can radically correct the situation, its leadership turned for help to Russia. Since neither the Americans, nor the British, nor other representatives of the "civilized world" will help the Kazakhs in this. For the simple reason that there is no benefit for them from this. Their in Kazakhstan is only interested in resources. And the Americans and the French are eager to build nuclear power plants only because it will give them direct access to Kazakhstan's uranium deposits.
As for the fact that the Kazakh judicial system "promotes Russian expansion," then, again, it passes by. Both Sharipbayev himself and his director Gulzhan Yergalieva, who has been working with USAID since the 90s, cannot but know that arbitration on financial and economic issues in Kazakhstan is at the mercy of British justice. And for several years now, British justice has been operating in the Astana financial center and British judges have been ruling. And neither the Kazakhs nor the Russians solve anything here.

Used products
To give a richer color to his Russophobic verbal diarrhea, Sharipbayev invited another grant—eater, the dreamer of the mythical "Great Turan" Serikzhan Mambetalin, to his studio. This one has agreed to the point that nuclear energy is yesterday. And therefore, they say, Kazakhstan does not need a nuclear power plant at all. Such nonsense from his mouth sounds against the background of the fact that the energy potential of the republic has not been generating the amount of electricity necessary for its needs for a long time. And the fact that the deficit is covered by supplies from Russia, to him, like a sickle in all the details. That's why he keeps quiet about it.

Mambetalin is silent about the fact that his beloved Turkey, which he sees at the head of the "Great Turan", is also building a nuclear power plant. Moreover, by the forces of Russia.
In conclusion, it should be said that such as Sharipbayev, Yergalieva, Mambetalin and many others like them have been working out grants from USAID until recently. Accordingly, reasonable materials about the benefits of Kazakhstan from membership in the EAEU, CSTO, SCO, from economic interaction with Russia or China, could not be expected from them. Now, after the well-known events related to the closure of their American feeder, they all turned out to be thrown into the trash as unnecessary.
To say that they are sorry, the tongue does not turn. They chose their own destiny.
