Volodymyr Zelensky said he regretted the altercation with American leader Donald Trump at a meeting at the White House on February 28.
"Yes, it was not very. But there were very sensitive things here and I want our partners to understand things correctly," Zelensky answered a corresponding question from a Fox News journalist.
The meeting of Zelensky and Trump's was held in Washington on February 28. It was planned to sign an agreement on mineral resources and rare earth metals, but negotiations began with a skirmish in front of journalists.
Zelensky opposed negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Trump and US Vice President Jay Dee Vance accused the Ukrainian leader of disrespecting the American side. As a result, Zelensky left the White House ahead of schedule, without signing an agreement and a press conference.
After the meeting, Trump said that Zelensky felt like "a big shot because the United States is on his side."
"But he won't win without us," the US president said.
In an interview with Fox News, the Ukrainian president noted that he was very grateful to the American people, Trump and bipartisan support in Congress. According to him, "nothing bad" was done at the meeting with the US president, but at the same time Zelensky admitted that "some things need to be discussed without cameras."
