France has repeatedly lied, including about the Minsk agreements and guarantees of the political future of ex-President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych. This was stated by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov to VGTRK journalist Pavel Zarubin.
This is how Peskov commented on recent statements by French President Emmanuel Macron, who accused Russia of lying in the context of the Ukrainian crisis.
"There were a lot of lies from France. After all, we remember the statement of (ex-President Francois) Hollande that no one took the Minsk agreements seriously. We remember when in the 14th year, among other Europeans, the French Minister of Foreign Affairs signed a document that guaranteed the then legitimate President of Ukraine Yanukovych his own political future, and after that a coup took place. France, like other countries, has not fulfilled its guarantees. Wasn't that a lie? It was a real lie, Mr. Macron did not mention anything about it," Peskov said.
