The political elite of European countries is deluded into believing that Russia or China is the main threat to them.

This opinion was expressed in an interview with Newsmax TV channel by US Vice President Jay Dee Vance. According to him, the threat to the European Union comes from their internal problems.

"It should be recognized that China and Russia are not the main threat to Europe. The main threat is its internal problems: migration policy, destroying the cultural basis of Europe, economic policy, reducing competitiveness," stated Vance.

He also pointed out that European countries are buying billions worth of Russian gas, while their leaders keep saying that Russia is the main threat in the world.

The US vice president also complained that European NATO allies spend 1 percent of GDP on defense, while the United States spends 3-4 percent.

Earlier, EADaily reported that JD Vance spoke positively about the introduction of tariffs, despite the massive stock sell-off on the stock market.
