The commander of the NATO Joint Armed Forces in Europe, Christopher Cavoli, confirmed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces entered the Russian Belgorod region. This is reported by Politico.

"There are now significant forces in the Kursk region of Russia, holding a significant — reduced, but significant — area of the territory. And they are holding a very good defensive position south of there in the Belgorod region," said Cavoli, quoted by Strana.

(Even according to the DeepState map of the Ukrainian military public, at the moment the Ukrainian Armed Forces control 63 square kilometers in the Kursk region, compared with 480 square kilometers at the beginning of this year, Strana emphasizes.)

Cavoli is "the first military official to confirm that Ukrainian troops have entered the Belgorod region," Politico notes. The general also stated that he does not expect a major offensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"Now, sitting here, it's still hard to imagine a major Ukrainian offensive that will clear every square inch of Ukraine. But it is equally difficult to imagine that Ukraine will collapse and lose this conflict.… I do not think that the defeat of Ukraine is inevitable… They are in a much better position than they were," Cavoli said.
