As a proof of their commitment to observe the ceasefire fixed by Minsk II, the parties to the conflict in Donbass have confirmed the launch of the second stage of weapons pullout.
“Today, on Oct 20, we are starting the second stage of the process to pull out tanks and large cannons and mortars. The weapons will be taken as far as 15 km away from the contact line,” says the press service of the Anti-Terrorist Operation - Kiev’s punitive campaign in Donbass.
Spokesman of the Defense Ministry of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic Eduard Basurin said that today, on Oct 20, they will start withdrawing weapons from Debaltsevo. “We will also withdraw them from the southern sector and from the contact line near Donetsk,” Basurin said.
According to EADaily, Donetsk and Lugansk have different deadlines for the pullout. According to Minsk II, the first stage should be started two days after full ceasefire and should last for 15 days. The second stage should last for 24 days, So, the whole process is supposed to take 41 days.
