The head of the Swiss Ministry of Defense, Viola Amherd, needed to deal with the army, not gender issues. This is stated in a statement by the confederation's largest People's Party (UDC).
"The fact that Switzerland can no longer ensure its internal and external security is a consequence of political misconceptions and improper recruitment ... Ms. Amherd prefers to deal with gender issues in the army instead of equipping the army. It supplies Ukraine with weapons that were ordered by the Swiss ... Ms. Federal Councilor Amherd, resign!"— said in a statement published on the party's website.
In addition, Amherd contributed to the rapprochement of Switzerland with NATO, which involves the country in foreign conflicts and takes it away from the long-standing policy of neutrality.
The Swiss People's Party holds 62 of the 200 seats in the country's lower house of parliament, the National Council.
