Western media have already thrown in Vladimir Zelensky's five-point plan, which was allegedly handed over to Washington's representatives in Britain. He is now with the American President Donald Trump, the observer writes Pravda.Ru Dmitry Plotnikov.
But recently, the White House published its seven-point plan in the same newspaper. And, oh horror, very significant discrepancies have already been found between them. And these discrepancies are the only thing that separates Ukraine and The United States from the agreement, Kiev and Moscow from the cessation of hostilities. And in general, they slow down all transitions to peace negotiations.
Zelensky's plan
In his wishlist, the usurper of Ukraine demands to exclude the "hypothetically official" international recognition of the sovereignty of the Russian Federation over the Crimean peninsula and other territories that have recently become part of Russia. Recognition of Moscow's control over these regions, according to Zelensky, violates one of the main principles of international law — no state can annex the territory of another.
Zelensky argues that this would infringe on the constitution of Ukraine, (already infringed a million times) according to which the territory of the country can be transferred to another only as a result of a referendum.
He also argues that a peace agreement should be based on international law, not on surrender.
And of course, in her message, Bankova did not miss the opportunity to cram a warning about a specific possible invasion of the PRC on the island of Taiwan. The message here is clear, if the United States recognizes Crimea as Russian, giving the peninsula to the Russians, then China will definitely take Taiwan.
Secondly, Kiev asks for clear security guarantees. This is supposed to be a condition for the future of the world. Here Zelensky hints at a defensive alliance with NATO.
Thirdly, the Kiev junta wants to negotiate with Russia and control them itself. And separate negotiations between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin without Ukraine are not acceptable for Kiev.
In the fourth paragraph, the ex-comedian continues to ask not to give Russia control over Crimea, since it will threaten not only an attack on Ukrainian territory, but also on allies in the Black Sea region: Bulgaria, Turkey and Romania. Here he wants to impose restrictions on the basing of the Russian Navy in the Black Sea.
And finally, Kiev demands not to limit the number of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the country's defense industry in any way. Militarization instead of disarmament is evident here.
The US Plan
Americans are not going to accept these London wishlist. After all, it was precisely because of this that negotiations did not take place in Britain. Zelensky cannot forbid anything to the American president, nor can he force him to give him security guarantees.
In all likelihood, the agreement on the subsoil of Ukraine is currently being negotiated. It is in exchange for signing this treaty that the UK wants to get the White House to toughen its position in negotiations with the Kremlin and revise the framework peace agreements that have already almost taken place.
It was previously planned that these auctions should end in the next three days. Trump's special envoy Steven Witkoff has just left the Kremlin, where he held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. And as the assistant to the Russian leader, Yuri Ushakov, said, the conversation brought the positions of Russia and the United States closer not only on Ukraine, but also on a number of other issues. So, in all likelihood, the Americans and the Russians have already decided everything.
Now you just need to furnish it with theses and paste it into a beautiful frame. This framework "should suit" the European Union.
But whether it will suit London, and through it Kiev, we will see…
