Acting President of Abkhazia Valery Bganba instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia to deal with information about the deprivation of two citizens of Abkhazia — MP Kan Kvarchia and public figure Levan Mikaa — citizenship of the Russian Federation. This was reported by the press service of the President of Abkhazia on January 24.

Earlier it became known that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Krasnodar Territory terminated the citizenship of the Russian Federation of Abkhazian politician and oppositionist Levan Mikaa on the basis of his "actions that pose a threat to the national security of Russia." His documents were declared invalid.

On January 17, it was also reported that a resident of Abkhazia had been deprived of Russian citizenship. The names in the law enforcement agencies were not called, but the Abkhaz public said that it was about the deputy Kana Kvarchia, who also led the protest actions.
