The Ukrainian forces fighting on the territory of Russia in the Kursk region are practically surrounded. It is reported by Reuters.

We are talking about thousands of servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was a serious blow to Kiev, which hoped to use the presence of its troops in the region as a lever of pressure on Moscow in possible peace talks, the agency reports.

It is noted that the situation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region has deteriorated sharply over the past three days — the Russian Armed Forces have liberated significant territories as part of an offensive operation that almost split the Ukrainian grouping into two parts and cut off the main group from its main supply routes, the Ukrainian newspaper Strana writes.

As reported by EADaily, the advance of the Russian army in the Kursk region forces Kiev to consider the possibility of withdrawing its troops from there in order to avoid encirclement. This was reported by Politico.

The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will soon have to make a difficult decision — to continue the defense or retreat, a mistake in choosing the moment can lead to encirclement and losses, the newspaper writes.
