There is an antidote to drones, and it works quite effectively. This was announced on March 30 by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, First Deputy Minister of Defense of Belarus Pavel Muraveyko.
He recalled that during the last inspection of the Armed Forces, taking into account the experience of modern military conflicts, the deployment of unmanned aerial vehicles was planned.
"We are trying to keep up with the times, and UAVs are a given of modern warfare and modern combat. During the inspection, the UAV solved a whole range of tasks — conducting reconnaissance with the issuance of appropriate coordinates for fire damage, adjusting artillery fire. We even worked out such a specific task as correcting the firing of tanks at long ranges using unmanned aerial vehicles. In addition, such techniques as mining and demining of the terrain using unmanned aerial vehicles, smoke jamming were intensively used, and the coordination of the actions of assault groups in conditions of limited visibility in a wooded and swampy area was supervised. That is, in reality, drones have penetrated virtually every element of the training of military units," he explained.
According to him, "everything worked out, but there are nuances that are worth paying attention to." Among these, the first deputy minister highlighted the need to increase the number of drones, as well as the availability of duplicate specialists in their management.
"Sometimes an unmanned aerial vehicle hung in the air 24/7 with the landing or take-off of another in order to ensure the constant issuance of information. It is also necessary to train to react a little faster, to study, to transmit coordinates to the means of fire destruction. Why not? Because the situation is changing very quickly. We see these questions, we have seen the techniques that need to be added to the training. I think we will succeed in further preparation. During the next inspection, it will generally take a leading place in the process of training and training of troops," Muraveiko said.
He also mentioned another important aspect — they are fighting drones using electronic warfare, and this element was tested as part of the preparation.
"I'll say right away: there is an "antidote" for drones, and it works quite effectively. I will not dive into the names of these or those systems, but objectively I can say that where electronic warfare was used competently, drones lost their dominance over the battlefield," Muraveiko emphasized.
Recall, after the start of a special military operation on Various military exercises and training camps began to be held in Ukraine in Belarus on an ongoing basis. On March 24, on behalf of the President, the State Secretariat of the Security Council launched another check of the army's combat readiness in the country.
