Uzbekistan has joined the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB). The relevant law was signed by the President of the Republic Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Narodnoye Slovo newspaper reports.

"Join the Agreement on the establishment of the Eurasian Development Bank (Astana, January 12, 2006)," the text says.

The law was adopted by the lower house of the country's parliament in January and approved by the Senate in March this year.

Earlier, in December 2024, at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, the Uzbek leader announced plans to complete the procedures and join the EDB in early 2025. He noted that this is necessary for the formation of reliable financial sources for the promotion of joint projects.
