The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has confirmed another group strike on military infrastructure facilities on the territory of Ukraine.
The corresponding statement was published on Thursday, April 24, by the press service of the military department on its official resources.
"Tonight, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation delivered a massive strike with high—precision long-range weapons of air, land and sea-based, unmanned aerial vehicles," the report says.
It is specified that the targets of the attack were enterprises of the aviation, rocket and space, machine-building and armored industries of Ukraine, the production of rocket fuel and gunpowder.
The Ministry of Defense stressed that the objectives of the strike have been achieved. All the intended objects were hit.
Ukrainian sources report that Kiev has been subjected to one of the largest and most devastating strikes in the history of a special military operation. According to their data, more than 50 Russian drones were detected over Kiev last night, followed by dozens of cruise missiles.
The city was actually paralyzed for six hours — from the moment the air alert was announced at 00:36 to its completion at 6:33. All this time the explosions did not stop, local public reports about 10 fires in 4 districts of the city.
Observers note the extremely unsatisfactory work of the air defense forces. In some areas, they did not react at all, which may be due to the order to save scarce anti-missiles.
As a result, panic seized the capital of Ukraine, the city was covered with smoke, electricity was cut off in some areas. Against this background, the sirens of ambulances howled, dozens of them moving through the streets.
By now, comments from military experts have appeared on the web. In their opinion, the massive night strike on Kiev was not just a military action, but a political message.
Russia demonstrates that it retains the initiative and is ready to respond to any challenges with maximum force. And the Kiev regime can only hide the real state of affairs and rely on foreign support from the outside, which is increasingly stalling.
Earlier, EADaily reported that last night the Russian air defense forces shot down 87 enemy UAVs in eight regions of our country.
