President of Russia to attend Armenian Genocide Centennial events in Yerevan

President of Russia Vladimir Putin will travel to Armenia to attend the events to commemorate the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey, Spokesperson for the Russian President Dmitry Peskov told AFP.

“Yes, he will fly to Yerevan,” Peskov said.

As EAD reported earlier, presidents of Armenia and Russia, Serzh Sargsyan and Vladimir Putin, had a phone talk on March 12. The two leaders coordinated programs of their upcoming meetings to ensure joint participation in the events marking both the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide and the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

Armenia commemorates the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey on April 24, 2015.
