Pushilin: Conflict in Donbass is no longer an internal Ukrainian problem

The conflict in Donbass has ceased to be an internal Ukrainian problem and is becoming more and more like the conflicts in Syria, Yemen and FYR Macedonia, says Denis Pushilin, the Donetsk People’s Republic’s representative to the contract group for peaceful settlement of the conflict in eastern Ukraine.

He believes that the region is on the verge of a big war.

“They in Kiev are not reacting in any way to the peaceful steps that are being taken by the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics. They need this conflict just to cover their incompetence. Over the last year Ukraine’s economy has slumped, the minimum wages and pensions have been frozen, while the bills have jumped,” Pushilin says.
