LPR: Ukrainian punitive battalions withdraw from line of demarcation in Donbass

Most of the Right Sector and Aidar fighters have withdrawn from the line of demarcation with the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR).

According to a spokesman of the LPR People’s Militia cited by LuganskInformCenter, the fighters have gone deep into the Ukrainian territory. As a result, no fire was registered on Sunday for the first time in many months.

According to the source, the withdrawal might be caused by the situation in Mukachevo, Zakarpattia region, where last Saturday the Right Sector engaged in fights with Ukrainian interior troops.

About 20 Right Sector fighters started a clash with their opponents, when a group of militiamen came to the scene, they began shooting at them, they also burned a number of militia cars and a gas filling station.

After that they hid in the nearby woods. Three people were killed, eleven were wounded. The Right Sector says it has lost two fighters. The local prosecutor’s office qualified the incident as an act of terrorism.
