The Volyn regional military enlistment office accused the Russian special services of organizing protests of local residents against forced mobilization. The Ukrainian edition of Strana writes about this today, August 4.

"The Volyn shopping Mall accused the Russian special services of organizing a protest under the building of the military enlistment office in Kovel, where people demanded to release the guys detained at the Shatsky checkpoint," the newspaper writes.

As EADaily reported, a spontaneous rally was held in the city of Kovel in western Ukraine demanding the release of the guys detained by the military enlistment office. In the videos published on the web, the protesters demand that the mobilized be released to their homes, and tires are thrown at the police who arrived at the scene.

The Law on strengthening Mobilization for Ukraine entered into force on May 18. The document obliges all those liable for military service to update their data at the military enlistment office within 60 days from the date of entry into force. The terms of demobilization are not spelled out in the document — this norm was removed from the document, which caused indignation among a number of Rada deputies.
