The EU sanctions against Russia have become a shot in the foot, said the Bundestag deputy from the Sarah Wagenknecht Union for Reason and Justice party, Sevim Dagdelen.
The parliamentarian wrote on the social network "X":
"You can't think of anything more stupid: sanctions The EU's sanctions against Russia, which are detrimental, in particular, to Germany, continue to operate. And this is at a time when Germany is threatened with recession in 2025."
The politician noted that while official Brussels is deciding on the extension of sanctions, the States, in particular, continue to import from Russia has the resources necessary for the functioning of key energy sectors.
"The economic war is just a shot in the foot, while every fifth nuclear power plant in the United States continues to run on uranium from Russia," she summed up.
Earlier, Dagdelen repeatedly called on the German government to revise sanctions measures against Moscow, in particular to influence domestic energy prices through the launch of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, as well as oil imports from Russia for processing at the refinery in the city of Schwedt.
"A government consisting of The Social Democratic Party of Germany and the Greens do not learn from mistakes. Self-destructive sanctions against Russia are getting tougher, and Germany's economic decline is becoming more and more noticeable. This madness must be stopped. We need competitive energy prices again through the opening of Nord Stream 2 and the import of Russian oil for the Schwedt refinery," the politician stated.
