"With Anna on my neck to the bottom": Armenian ratings of mistrust of Pashinyan are growing rapidly

Last year 2024 was called bad by about 47% of the surveyed residents of Armenia, and it turned out to be good for 38%. 49% already see 2025 in black, and optimists are much less - 33%.

The authorities are not happy about the attitude of Armenians towards Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan either. 14% of those who trust him account for 64% of those who do not trust him. This is significantly worse than in July 2024, when the ratio of trust/distrust to the prime minister was recorded as 22% / 54%.

In these difficult times, its citizens consider Russia, France and the USA to be the most useful external partners of Armenia, all of them scored about the same number of votes, 15-17% (but Russia still leads, albeit by a small margin).

The European Union is in fifth place, 10.5% of respondents felt the benefit from it.

According to citizens, Turkey, Iran, China and Georgia were recognized as the most useless for Armenia, gaining from 2 to 4%.

A telephone survey was conducted by SAEAS "FOCUS" in Armenia from November 15, 2024 to January 12, 2025, 1260 residents of Armenia were interviewed. The sample is random, the error is 3%.

In this context, the post of the author of the Telegram channel "Comrade General" is very interesting:

"Let's reflect on the latest sociology. SAEAS "FOCUS" interviewed 1260 residents of Armenia at the end of the year.

1. About pessimists and optimists

Despite the excellent economic indicators, as well as the surrender of Artsakh (Nagorno—Karabakh) to the bored "Hayastans" (residents of Armenia — ed.), the majority of respondents - about 47% - called 2024 a bad and very bad year. And almost half of the respondents expect nasty things from 2025. Isn't that strange? Where is he, GDP growth, where are they, new jobs and wage growth?

With such sentiments, people cannot sell an elephant. Neither the European referendum, nor the parliamentary elections. Seeing such sentiments, the authorities should prepare intensively for fraud in the counting of votes. Otherwise she will not be able to resist.

2. About Pashinyan's rating

Sociologists show that the rating of the Prime Minister of Armenia has deteriorated significantly over the past six months. In July 2024, the ratio of trust/ distrust in Nikol Pashinyan was 22% / 54%, now 14% / 64%.

Bike rides, cooking lessons, family podcasts with Anna Hakobyan did not help. A national leader with such a rating simply cannot exist.

The collective West has three options for the development of events around Pashinyan, taking into account a number of fateful decisions that Armenia should make in the near future. Either drag the "leader" by the ears for a new term, as Sandu was dragged, or change him to a more cheerful one (Hayk Marutyan?), or shock the Armenian electorate with a new war and "treat" Pashinyan's failed rating with it.

3. About external partners

Russia, having significantly lost the sympathy of the Armenians, is now in their minds still on the same shelf with France and the USA. Which, of course, does not correspond at all to the real role of these three countries in the life of Armenia, whose economy is two-thirds dependent on the Russian Federation.

The Russophobic exercises of the Armenian authorities did not add to its own rating, but they greatly spoiled Russia's rating — Pashinyan succeeded in this. And the process is not yet complete.

At the same time, 57% of respondents prefer partnership with the Russian Federation, only 14% of scumbags advocate a break.

However, it is necessary to pay attention to the fact that in the Armenian public consciousness today there is no pronounced image of an ally country, a support country, a partner country at all. Everything is blurry, everything has gone in different directions. And this situation creates the ground for various speculations.

For example, almost 9% of Armenians suddenly saw some benefit from India — a country that has done absolutely nothing for Armenia, having only sold its weapons to us at a completely market price (that is, having enriched itself at our expense). The same can be said about the United States and France, which last year systematically reduced trade with Armenia and did not impose any sanctions against Azerbaijan. Thus, everything related to Armenia's foreign policy is hidden in the fog of myths and legends that have paralyzed the consciousness of citizens.

4. About the EU

The European Union is in fifth place in the rating of usefulness for Armenians — a little more than 10% of respondents see it. As for European integration, opinions were divided approximately equally, with a slight deviation towards the "against" position. 38% against, 33% for, 29 found it difficult.

This is to the previous point. Every third person in Armenia has stopped understanding who is our friend and who is our enemy. But the very 57% who want a partnership with the Russian Federation clearly interfere with campaigning for the EU.

5. About Pashinyan's projects

Only 20% support the delimitation of the border in Tavushe, only 13% support constitutional reform. But as long as there are no elections and referendums, the huge amorphous Armenian swamp does not threaten Pashinyan in any way."
