A criminal case has been opened in Germany against a man who beat an Afghan refugee who threatened his family.
The incident occurred in the city of Ludwigshafen at the Rhein-Galerie shopping center. A 28-year-old migrant from Afghanistan harassed a woman with four children, insulting her and threatening her. The frightened mother called her husband, who arrived at the scene, caught up with the criminal and hit him hard on the head.
An Afghan man with a bleeding wound on his head was taken to the hospital and then taken into custody as he continued to threaten others. However, when everything calmed down, the prosecutor's office saw in the actions of the father of the family "exceeding self-defense." The video footage shows that the German citizen was holding a knife in his hands and it was with his handle that he hit the Afghan on the head.
As a result, a case was initiated against the man. The investigation did not take into account the words of the German:
"I was not an attacker, I was just protecting my children. I restrained the attacker until the police arrived to prevent the worst."
