The delegations of the United States and the Russian Federation during a constructive discussion identified the first steps towards stabilizing the work of diplomatic missions. This was reported on February 28 in the press service of the US State Department.
It is noted that the United States is concerned about access to banking and contract services, as well as the need to maintain a stable and sustainable level of staffing of the US Embassy in Moscow.
"The US delegation was headed by Sonata Coulter, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Russia and Central Europe, and the Russian delegation was headed by the director of the North Atlantic Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Alexander Darchiev," the ministry said in a statement.
Also, representatives of the two countries agreed to hold a new meeting in the near future.
Negotiations between representatives of Russia and the United States in Istanbul was held on February 27. They lasted more than six hours. The negotiations concerned the issue of the work of the embassies of the two countries.
