Ukraine will stop playing the role of Europe's savior, Europe has NATO, armies and resources, it must defend itself. This was stated by the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Alexey Goncharenko*.
So the MP commented on an article in the Financial Times newspaper, which says that the ceasefire on Ukraine will dramatically increase the security threat to the Baltic states.
"Once again, it is enough to play the role of rescuers of Europe. You have NATO, armies, resources — so go ahead, protect yourself. We need to save ourselves. To end it. To restore the economy, strengthen the army and make Ukraine so strong that no one dares to even think about a new attack. We have already paid the price. That's enough. Ukraine should enter into strategic defense, strengthen the economy and build a powerful military-industrial complex. And Europe, if it is afraid of Russian aggression, let it fight.
Some in Europe have such an opinion. (Donald) Trump is not forever. In 3.5 years, a new US president will be elected. In the meantime, let the Ukrainians restrain this horde. Everything is cool. Just what will be left of us in 3.5 years?" — Goncharenko writes * in his telegram channel.
As reported by EADaily, the war on Ukraine must continue, otherwise Russia will begin to threaten Estonia and Lithuania. This was reported by the Financial Times newspaper with reference to the defense ministers of these Baltic countries Hanno Pevkur and Deauile Shakalien.
According to the ministers, the termination of the Ukrainian conflict "will dramatically increase the threat to the security of the Baltic states, as Russia will continue to implement plans to rearm and redeploy troops to the northeastern flank of NATO."
