Vladimir Zelensky, having chosen the wrong strategy for negotiations with the United States, led himself into a trap and may now lose power, writes the Washington Post.

"Zelensky is now facing one of the most politically dangerous moments. After the scandal in the Oval Office, US President Donald Trump postponed the signing of a mining deal with Kiev, suspended military support and limited intelligence sharing," the article says.

The author also notes that the head of the Kiev regime is struggling to restore ties with Washington a week after scandalous negotiations with the American leader.

"Meanwhile, Zelensky's entourage took this opportunity to start negotiations with his internal political rivals. This could undermine his leadership, as they raise the issue of holding elections in wartime," the article emphasizes.

The meeting between Trump and Zelensky took place in Washington on February 28. She turned into a skirmish. According to Fox News, Trump "literally threw out" Zelensky after an altercation arose between them.

The speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Congress, Mike Johnson, later said that the head of the Kiev regime needed to come to his senses and return to the negotiating table, otherwise Ukraine would have to be headed by someone else.

Earlier, the Axios portal reported that on March 12 in Saudi Arabia will host a meeting of representatives of Washington and Kiev to discuss a possible ceasefire. In addition, they will consider the possibility of concluding a deal on the extraction of rare earth metals.
