Russian Ambassador Sergey Vakunov has been invited to the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry in connection with the mass detention of Kyrgyz citizens in Moscow. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic.

"In connection with the mass detentions of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic that took place on April 11, 2025, a meeting of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs was held at the Bodost bath complex in Moscow on April 14 KR Almaz Imangaziev with Extraordinary and Ambassador Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation Sergey Vakunov," the ministry said in a statement.

It also states that an official note was handed to the Russian side with a request to provide information on the grounds for the operation carried out by law enforcement agencies, as well as the use of force measures against citizens and, in case of unjustified use of force, to take appropriate measures against representatives of Moscow law enforcement agencies on this incident.

"The request was expressed to take effective measures to protect the rights of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic and prevent similar situations from happening again that could damage the Kyrgyz-Russian relations of alliance and strategic partnership," the Foreign Ministry further said in a statement.

Earlier, on April 10, an incident occurred in one of the Moscow baths with the detention of several Kyrgyz citizens by security forces with the use of violence.
