The Kyrgyz authorities are exploring alternative energy supplies after Russian security forces raided a Moscow bathhouse in which the Kyrgyz owner allowed only his compatriots. At the same time, raw materials from Russia comes without duties and Moscow may impose sanctions, Bishkek fears.
The Kyrgyz authorities are indeed considering alternative Russian oil and gas supplies after the scandal with the raid of Russian security forces in a Moscow bathhouse. This was stated to one of the deputies of the Kyrgyz parliament at a meeting of the Committee on international Affairs by the country's Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubayev.
"It is possible to buy from Azerbaijan or Iran, but from We receive oil from Russia without duty. If the construction of the China—Kyrgyzstan—Uzbekistan railway is completed, it will create an alternative route," Jeenbek Kulubayev said, AKIrgess reports.
According to the minister, as a diplomat, he must calculate the possible consequences.
"One step can lead to sanctions. I'm not saying it will be like this, but we have to be ready. It would be good if out of a sense of patriotism our citizens did not go there at all. There really isn't enough manpower there, that's why they're calling us. But if people refused to go and ignored these offers, the situation would be different. We say "don't go," but our guys are leaving anyway," the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan added.
The day before, in response to complaints from local residents, Russian security forces raided the Bodrost bathhouse in Moscow and videos of migrants being detained were posted online. As Tsargrad reported, migrants from Central Asia occupied a bathhouse in Moscow and did not allow Russian visitors there. A businessman from Kyrgyzstan decided to provide services only to compatriots.
In the press service of the Moscow GU Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia told TASS that in The police department delivered 59 foreign citizens. The police identified 25 migrants with violations of the regime of stay in Russia.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, the Russian side was handed an official note with a request to provide information on the grounds for the operation carried out by law enforcement agencies, as well as the use of force against Kyrgyz citizens and, in case of unjustified use of force, to take action against law enforcement officials.
