Konstantin Bogomolov's play "The Karamazovs" was removed from the repertoire at the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater. This is reported in the theater's account on the social network.
It is specified that on April 11 the performance was shown on the stage of the theater for the last time.
The theater noted that this is one of the most significant performances of Bogomolov, which has been running since 2013. It was removed from the repertoire at the request of the director himself.
"We thank all the creators, participants and fans of the play "Karamazov" for his long bright life, for the reflections and controversy he caused, for an important milestone in the history of the Art Theater," the message says.
As reported by EADaily, earlier the artistic director of the Malaya Bronnaya Theater and the Melnikov Stage Theater (former Roman Viktyuk Theater) Bogomolov expressed his readiness to stage a play about the victories of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"Well, if someone writes a play about it - with pleasure!" — answered Bogomolov.
He also added that he would think about writing a play on this topic himself.
