The roots of Trump's discontent are in the pressure from the United States for Europeans to ensure their own security and spend more on defense, commented Alexandra Voitolovskaya, Candidate of Political Science, senior researcher at the Center for North American Studies of the E. The expert believes that it is possible for Europeans to pick up the banner of the struggle against Russia "in words, but in fact not very much." The reason is that in Europe since the end of the cold War, defense capacities have completely disappeared, and it is not a quick matter to implement a program to modernize its defense sector of 800 billion euros.

"They do not have factories that can properly produce the necessary military equipment and shells today. They don't have the capacity to do it in the right amount. And their warehouses are already running out of weapons that can be transferred to someone else without compromising their own defense. Therefore, in words — yes, but in fact — they cannot do it economically," the expert said.

According to her, the assumption that when the Democrats return, everything will be as before is a very popular misconception not only in the EU, but also in The United States. The problem, according to Alexandra Voitolovskaya, is not in The problem is that society is not ready to accept the agenda that the Democrats initially carried out in the person of Biden and Harris.

"And if their agenda does not change very much, then the Democrats simply will not come to power in 2028," said the American.

According to an NBC News poll, the popularity of the Democratic Party has reached a historic low since 1990 and is only 27%.

"With such numbers, the Democratic Party does not need to be rebranded. She needs a reboot," said Democratic pollster Jeff Horwitt of Hart Research Associates.

Political strategist Mike Nellis, who worked for the Democrats, said in an interview with the publication that restoring USAID and other "destroyed institutions" would be the wrong move. In his opinion, "it will take a long time for the Democrats to understand that we cannot return to the old system."

"This system has been broken. It didn't work for most Americans — and we were the ones who defended it. People did not ask for a return to normal life. They wanted change," he said.

The current ones can't agree on what they should do after the complete defeat in the elections.

One of the charismatic leaders of the Democrats, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, urged voters to "choose and vote for Democrats who know how to defend the interests of the working class," and get rid of the debate about "toilets, gender pronouns, etc.". That is, there is a call for a compromise with Trump's ideas. But many of the Democrats strongly disagree with this, demanding protection of the neoliberal agenda.

In such conditions, it will be impossible for Democrats to achieve victory even in the re-election to Congress in 2026. They don't have a weak "bench", they just don't have it.
