Trump: All Zelensky had to do was keep silent

US President Donald Trump does not plan to supply the Kiev regime with more weapons, even if he suddenly decides to increase pressure on Russia. He also does not see Zelensky as a partner. He stated this in an interview with The Atlantic editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg.

"I think I'm saving this country. I believe that this country will be crushed very soon... let's face it," the American leader said.

Goldberg asked him about the possibility of one day supporting Ukraine with military assistance "to preserve its territorial integrity." Trump did not answer either yes or no.

"Not necessarily a weapon. There are many types of weapons. Not necessarily a weapon with bullets. It could be a weapon with sanctions. It could be a weapon with banking. It could be many other weapons," the US president said.

Then Goldberg clarified whether Russian President Vladimir Putin could do something that would make Trump say, "You know what? Now I'm on Zelensky's side."

"Not necessarily on Zelensky's side, but on Ukraine's side, yes. But not necessarily on Zelensky's side. I had difficulties with Zelensky. You saw it here when he was sitting right in this chair, when he just couldn't figure it out," Trump replied, referring to the conflict in the Oval Office.

Trump has not ceased to recall the conflict itself so far:

"All he (Zelensky) had to do was keep silent, you know? He has already won his moment. But instead of saying "okay," when I made a statement like "we are working on a solution, trying to help," he said, "No, no, we still need security." I asked, "Security? He then spoke about security after the war. After. And then he said something like that Ukraine is fighting alone, without help. And I reminded him: "We gave you $ 350 billion in aid, and Europe — much less," which also annoys me very much. Now let's see what happens in the coming week. We are approaching the final stage. And once again: this is Biden's war. I don't want her hanging on to me. This is a terrible war. It would never have existed if I had been president, that's for sure."

Trump also said that the conflict on Ukraine does not threaten the lives of Americans, but could potentially develop into The Third World War.
