Another parliamentarian from Party of Regions dies in Ukraine

Oleksandr Peklushenko, the former head of the Zaporozhye regional administration, former parliamentarian from the Party of Regions, was found dead in the village of Solnechniy, Zaporozhye region.  According to the local media outlets, the ex-official suffered a gunshot wound to the neck.

 An investigative group is on the spot. Several theories are being investigated.

Peklushenko, 60, was a member of Ukraine’s Supreme Rada of the 6th convocation. After Victor Yanukovych’s victory in the presidential election, Peklushenko was appointed as governor of the Zoporozhsky Region. He worked on that post till the Euromaidan.  On March 3 2014, Peklusheko was fired by acting president Alexander Turchinov.

Peklushenko is the latest in a series of deaths involving the former parliamentarians of the Party of Regions. As EAD reported earlier, Stanislav Melnik and Mikhail Chechetov were found dead. By Kiev’s official reports, both officials committed suicide.
