President of Transnistria Yevgeny Shevchuk and Ambassador of Russia to Moldova Farit Mukhametshin have met in Tiraspol to discuss the social-economic situation in Transnistria.
According to the press service of the Transnistrian president, special attention was paid to external political factors. “We have considered ways to alleviate their impact on our economy,” Shevchuk said.
Shevchuk and Mukhametshin also discussed implementation of the Eurasian Integration non-profit organization project to build a number of community facilities in Transnistria.
“Under this project we have received quite serious investments in our pre-school education and health care,” Shevchuk said.
Mukhametshin expressed hope that the key facilities to be built under the project will be ready by late 2015-early 2016. “Perhaps, this project will be followed by some other social initiatives,” the ambassador said.
Shevchuk and Mukhametshin also discussed a Russian-Transnistrian project to provide Transnistrian schools with textbooks.
In the end, Mukhemetshin said that regular meetings with the Transnistrian president are a chance for the sides to work out special measures for future.
