The Israeli Air Force has invaded Lebanese airspace, four fighter jets are circling over Beirut. This was announced today, August 5, RIA Novosti reports, citing a source in the Lebanese Civil Aviation Service.

"Four Israeli Air Force warplanes invaded Lebanese airspace and made maneuvers over Beirut," the source said.

Sounds similar to strong explosions can be heard both in the center of the Lebanese capital and on its outskirts.

It should be noted that against the background of escalating tensions, Israeli combat aircraft regularly violate the airspace and maritime borders of Lebanon, disregarding UN Security Council Resolution 1701. Last week, Israeli Air Force planes launched rocket attacks on a residential building in the southern suburbs of Beirut, injuring more than 65 people, among those killed was a high-ranking commander of the Hezbollah movement, Fuad Shukr.
