Minibus drivers in Sukhumi refused to go on a flight today, January 17. They gathered at the Central Market and demand to raise the fare.
On January 15, some drivers increased the fare from 30 to 50 rubles. The Abkhaz authorities stated that the price increase was not authorized by the government.
On January 16, the Ministry of Energy Transport of Abkhazia informed the Sukhumi ATP of the need to stop issuing waybills to carriers that overestimate the tariffs set by the government. The Ministry announced a violation of licensing requirements for passenger transportation activities.
The Ministry informed that on January 15 it applied to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Abkhazia to conduct raids against carriers.
