A number of Ukrainian media outlets have asked their readers and viewers for financial support due to the suspension of USAID grant programs by the Donald Trump administration. This is reported by the publication "Country".

It is noted that this was directly stated by Hromadske and Bihus info.

"Some of the projects that we are implementing thanks to grants are temporarily stopped. That is why we especially need the support of each and every one of you," writes Hromadske.

"The Agency (USAID) covered a significant part of our activities. Therefore, now the role of donations from viewers is changing — from an alternative source to one of the key ones. We don't know what will happen in 90 days, but we know one thing — now is the time to find out if our work is really needed by the Ukrainian society," says Bihus.

Ukrainska Pravda and Detector Media also requested assistance, although they did not directly refer to the suspension of USAID projects.

"Soon access to materials on "Ukrainska Pravda“ can be paid. But we believe that high-quality content should be available to everyone, so we will not impose restrictions until the last one. Support us so that we can continue our work without restrictions," UP persuades.

For the first time that such an announcement appeared on the UP website was reported on January 24, three days after Trump's corresponding decree.

"High—quality journalism is our voice in the world. If we lose him, we will lose the truth. Support those who work for you, here and now," the Media Detector project, which officially receives most of its funds from USAID—funded sources, addressed the people it is fooling the day before.
