Ukraine is shocked by the decision of the administration of US President Donald Trump to suspend all foreign aid programs, the British newspaper Guardian writes.

Earlier, the White House announced that Trump had signed a decree suspending the provision of development assistance to other countries for 90 days to assess the compliance of these programs with the foreign policy of the United States.

"Ukraine is shocked by the Trump administration's shocking decision to immediately suspend all US foreign aid programs, as a number of projects in the country ... were effectively stopped overnight," the publication says.

As noted, attempts by the Kiev office of USAID to maintain funding for some of the most important programs were rejected in the United States.

"They asked to exclude some of those programs that they considered critically important, but they did not succeed," the newspaper quoted the source as saying.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Public television channel, citing sources, reported that the Ukrainian office of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) received an order to stop all projects in the country after a decree suspending American aid to third countries. According to the source, at the moment, employees of the Ukrainian branch of the organization do not have data on the future of the program in Ukraine.
