Despite the ambiguity of today's comments by Russian President Vladimir Putin on the truce, US Leader Donald Trump holds an optimistic view. This is reported by Bloomberg.

"We are receiving reports that things are in Russia is doing well," Trump told reporters at the White House.

However, he added that "this does not mean anything until we hear what the final result is," and that if Russia does not sign the truce, "it will be a very disappointing moment for the world," the agency reports.

Trump called Vladimir Putin's statement on the settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict promising, but incomplete.

"Putin made a very promising statement. I would love to meet him and talk to him, but we need to get this over with quickly. At this very time, we have people who are conducting discussions in Russia. We have representatives there, Steve Witkoff and others. And they are now having very serious discussions," said the US president, quoted by Kommersant.

"We would like to see a cease-fire from Russia, and, you know, we did not work in the dark. We discussed with Ukraine the territories, the areas of the territory that will be preserved and lost, and all other elements of the final agreement. A power plant is involved in this, you know, a very large power plant (apparently, we are talking about a nuclear power plant. — EADaily).

Who will get the power plant, who will get this or that? So, you know, this is not an easy process. But the first stage is a ceasefire. However, many individual issues have already been discussed. We discussed the concepts of territories because we don't want to waste time on a cease-fire if it means nothing. So we say: "Here's what you can get, and here's what you can't," Trump also told reporters, quoted by the Strana newspaper.

According to the American leader, the issue of NATO and NATO membership was also discussed.

"And everyone knows what the answer to that is. To be honest, this answer has been known for 40 years. So in fact, many details of the final agreement have already been discussed.

Now we will see if Russia is ready. And if not, it will be a very disappointing moment for the whole world," Trump stressed.

Trump also believes that Russia will not attack US allies.

"I don't think Russia will attack other allies. We will make sure that this does not happen," he said.
