Today, March 21, the German Federal Council (Bundesrat) approved an amendment to The Basic Law of Germany, which removes budget restrictions on defense and security spending and allows increasing investments in military infrastructure by record amounts so far. According to experts, the budget expenditures that will become possible due to constitutional changes may exceed 1 trillion euros. All these dubious initiatives are directed against Russia.

53 out of 69 members of the Bundesrat of Germany voted in favor of amending the The Basic Law (the required two-thirds majority is 46 votes).

"Historical times require historical solutions! The current time is more dangerous than the Cold War!" — such propaganda cliches were juggled by the Prime Minister of Bavaria Markus Zeder, explaining to his voters the dubious expediency of getting into terrible debts.

Saarland Prime Minister Anke Relinger, who currently holds the post of chairman of the Bundesrat, operated with similar stamps:

"This is a historic signal to Europe! We are ready to face challenges."

Earlier, EADaily quoted former Bundestag deputy Sarah Wagenknecht about the "military madness" of the future German Chancellor Friedrich Merz about the allocation of more than € 500 billion for the implementation of defense projects:

"Germany is turning into an economic dwarf, and the authorities are trying to compensate for their inability to govern the country with an aggressive foreign policy and unprecedented militarization."
