The agreement on legal assistance between Russia and Estonia

The agreement between Moscow and Tallinn on legal assistance and legal relations in civil, family and criminal matters was terminated on March 19. This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, which is published on the portal of legal information.

"On March 19, 2025, the agreement between the Russian Federation and By the Republic of Estonia on legal assistance and legal relations in civil, family and criminal matters, signed in Moscow on January 26, 1993," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

The Estonian side announced the termination of this agreement with the Russian Federation on April 1, 2024. The authorities in Tallinn called the reason for this decision their lack of confidence in the Russian justice system and the actions of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. Previously, the agreement was regularly extended, according to TASS.
