Eight countries have joined the latest package of EU sanctions against Belarus. This is stated in the statement of the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs.

We are talking about sanctions approved by the Council The EU on March 27, 2025, when 25 individuals and 7 legal entities were included in the sanctions list for the "situation in Belarus" and the republic's participation "in the Russian aggression against Ukraine." Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway and Ukraine. The countries that have joined have confirmed that they will bring their national policies in line with the decision of the EU Council. In turn, Brussels welcomed this decision and noted the "commitment of partners to the common position of the European Union."

Belarus has been under Western sanctions since 2020. After starting SMO on Ukraine's pressure on Minsk has intensified.
