The official Bishkek has announced the veterinary control at all border check-points with Kazakhstan will be toughened, as concerns of malignant anthrax breakout were confirmed. The Kyrgyz agriculture ministry released an announcement saying that phytosanitary safety regime will be toughened as well. The Kazakh leadership is informed on the measures.
Officials in Kazakhstan who were calling not to overdramatize the situation in eastern part of the country, have to agree: two deaths were registered there caused by the anthrax, eight people were hospitalized due to the same reason.
The Kazakh government recommends that people do not eat meat in these hot days. At the same time, informed sources say that several top regional officials and their bosses in the central government were fired because of the outbreak.
