After the meeting in President Donald Trump's Vatican meeting with the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, showed signs of a possible turn in US policy towards Ukraine. This was stated in an interview with the Rheinische Post newspaper by the representative of the CDU/CSU parliamentary faction on foreign policy, Jurgen Hardt.

"Trump's recent statements suggest that he is losing patience with (Russian President Vladimir) Putin because of the tactics of delaying time on the part of the Kremlin," Hardt said, quoted by the DW * Main telegram channel.

The United States should, in his opinion, "link its readiness for peace with further resolute support for Ukraine ... then Putin will understand that he cannot win the war against Ukraine and, I hope, will be ready to conclude a just peace himself."

The next few days will show whether Trump is ready to change his strategy, the politician noted.

"Perhaps this will be facilitated by the fact that skepticism is growing in the United States about Trump's compliance with Putin," he added.
