The American composer, one of the world's most influential musicians of the second half of the 20th century, Philip Glass, accused the Sevastopol Opera and Ballet Theater of using his music in the ballet performance "Wuthering Heights" based on the novel by Emily Bronte. The composer published a letter of complaint to the theater on the social network X.

Glass indicated that his music in the play and his name were used to promote the production without his personal permission or the permission of his representatives. He accused the theater of an "act of piracy" and recalled that such actions contradict the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works of 1886, which protects the rights of poets, artists, composers and which was signed by the Russian Federation.

In addition to the music of Glass, the play uses the music of Hildur Gudnadouttir from the movie "Joker".

Philip Glass is the author of 14 symphonies, 11 concerts, 8 string quartets, operas and musical and theatrical works, as well as music for films. In particular, the music for the films "Kundun", "The Clock" and "The Truman Show" was nominated for a Golden Globe.
