The SSC in the Rostov region has reclassified the criminal case on the attempted murder of a SMO participant by an ethnic group to an article on hooliganism. This was announced today, July 31, by TC Readovka, enclosing a copy of the resolution of the investigative department for the city of Bataisk.
In the autumn of 2023, a resident of Bataisk, Araz Huseynov, together with a crowd of his "friends" attacked SMO participant Vyacheslav. At the same time, Huseynov shot at least 14 times at Vyacheslav — he miraculously managed to stay alive. After that, SUSK opened a criminal case under the article on attempted murder for hooligan motives, but now, according to the victim's sister, the case has been reclassified and the articles have been changed to milder ones — Article 213 of the Criminal Code (hooliganism) and Article 115 (causing minor harm to health).
The investigation of the attack lasts 11 months. To consider the issue of mitigating the article, the case was sent to the department UK in Bataisk.
The family of the miraculously surviving Vyacheslav, who has now recovered from severe injuries and returned to the SMO zone, worries that Huseynov will escape fair punishment. It is not yet clear what grounds there are to equate the harassment and assault of a SMO participant by a group and with the use of weapons to a violation of public order. Moreover, only Huseynov was detained in the case, the rest of the attackers were not even found.
